My wife and I are both natives of Alabama. The Lord transferred us to this area back
in November 2005. For twenty-eight years I served as an evangelist preaching revival
meetings in various churches, prisons, and overseas missions. The Lord changed my
assignment about six years ago when He began to place me in various churches as an
interim pastor. When Trinity Baptist Church first began to meet, they called me to be their
pastor. We are honored to serve the Lord with this wonderful group of believers here in
Springfield, Georgia.
As the pastor of this local church, I have some strong convictions that I feel obligated to
live by. These convictions come from the following Scriptures:
Ephesians 4:11-13, “He Himself gave some to be . . . pastors and teachers, for the
equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till
we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect
man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.”
1 Peter 5:2-3, “Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not
by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; nor as being lords over
those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.”
Acts 20:28, “Therefore, take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the
Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased
with His own blood.”
I believe the role of the shepherd is to lead, feed, protect, tend, and be an example to the
flock that God has placed me in charge of.
